Many programs for teachers and students are explained here. From coursework to language preparation to international topportunities, you'll find those explanations on this site. Love your current position? Great. . .there are summer and short-term options. Looking for a challenge or new opportunity? Great. . .there are year-long choices, too. The TGC Program that I was a part of is under this umbrella--please let me know if you have questions. The TGC Program is wonderful!
Transatlantic Outreach Program (TOP)
The Goethe Institut offers lessons, German language materials, classroom materials, references, and study abroad opportunities for both students and teachers. They also have a two week travel opportunity to Germany for qualified Social Science teachers in the summer months.
EarthWatch Institute
This organization is unique in several ways. First, Science teachers (and those concerned about the environment) can join scientists who are researching an in-depth project. Also, high school students can research as an individual or with a small group of friends. Teenagers who are not comfortable traveling solo can join another group that's already in progress to conduct research.

The Centre for Global Education (CGE) was established in 1986 by eight development agencies to provide education services that will enhance awareness of international development issues.
Its central goal is to challenge dominant stereotypes and commonly held perceptions of developing countries which are prevalent in our society.The Centre believes that education can empower individuals and communities to play an active role in addressing the causes of poverty and injustice around the world.R NEA.org Global Education Resources for Teachers

WV4H-The primary goal of the WVU Extension Global Education & Engagement Team is to be a leader of programs and activities that support and enhance global education for Extension faculty, staff, and volunteers, and clientele. The team is inter-disciplinary in nature with Extension Agents and faculty from 4-H Youth Development, Agriculture & Natural Resources, Families & Health and the Community Economic & Workforce
WVU:FACDIS-The West Virginia Consortium for Faculty & Course Development in International Studies (FACDIS) was established in 1980 and is a consortium of 20 West Virginia institutions of higher education with over 375 participating faculty in international studies and foreign languages from more than fifteen different disciplines.
StudyWV.org-Global West Virginia is an International Education Consortium of Colleges and Universities established by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission in May 2006. Global West Virginia seeks to enhance the international education of every public and private higher education institution in West Virginia.
WVConnections-Multicultural education, as required by state code and West Virginia Board of Education policy, equips students with both knowledge and skill sets needed to coorperatively engage with people from other cultures, ethnicities, races and religions in the 21st century. Many West Virginia cities and towns are impacted by international investment in their communities.
